We Will Remember
It was super to see so many families in church yesterday, marking Remembrance Sunday.
The church was PACKED to bursting and we were warmly welcomed. Emilia and Joseph read their prayers beautifully, and a special thank you to Ethan who stepped in at the last moment- reading with such confidence. Bethany, Quinn, Harriette and Evelyn took responsibility for laying the wreaths in the churchyard. All the children were superb ambassadors of Fishbourne Primary School. I was enormously proud of each and every one of the children who attended church with us today. We recognise that many of our children were remembering in their own churches and representing Cubs, Brownies, Scouts and Guides at different parades.
Meanwhile in Priory Park, our poppies cascaded down the mound in the Priory 100 Act of Remembrance. It's lovely to think that so many of our families and staff are represented in this special way too.
It seems appropriate that our whole school learning experience for the week ahead is, 'Choose Respect'. Children are our future, our hope... It's important we prepare them well. We have a big responsibility to build, nurture and guide a new generation of our world.
