In preparation for this time, Year 6 identified the attributes a good Book Buddy would need to have - encouraging, patient, helpful, supportive and collaborative to name but a few! They learnt how to actively listen, support decoding and use the illustrations to look for clues. They have learnt to ask questions about the story to check their buddies understanding. We have been bowled over listening to the conversations happening around the classroom and are incredibly proud of both the Panda and Penguin classes for their super attitudes.
