year 6 residential

What an incredible week we had! We were blessed with wonderful weather, a taste of every season! Every single member of the Elephant family made us so very proud!

The Elephants demonstrated every inch of our Fishbourne learning behaviours. They were brave, plucky and fearless, trying new activities such as Steam Extreme which saw the Elephants travel downstream, overcoming obstacles as well as chilly water! It was wonderful to hear the mix of laughter and camaraderie!  Determination was seen and heard as the Elephant's climbed, abseiled and zipped their way through their activities. The instructors commented on the children's positivity, always being hopeful and optimistic in all they did. They also commented on the super collaboration demonstrated by the Elephants - in our team challenges, the children worked in partnership to get around the course, cheering each other on!  It was wonderful to finish each day with reflections on all we had achieved before snuggling down with a warm drink, a great book and our blankets and pillows, all along the corridor - a Fishbourne tradition now on residential!  By far,  the most wonderful thing to hear from our instructors, was the warmth and wonderful manners they received from our children! They were blown away by them and the Elephants made their word a great place to be!

We would like to thank our wonderful Elephant parents for trusting us to care and nurture your children whilst away from home. For many, this was their first experience away from home and we knew that this was an important 'first'! We know you missed your Elephant very much!

Lastly, I would like to personally thank our incredible team: Mrs Trow, Mrs Whitaker and Mrs Lilywhite. They championed each Elephant to shine and I am so grateful that they gave so much time and energy to support me on taking the class on residential.

Here's to the rest of the Year 6 adventure!
